All right, I'm taking over this blog. It was mine already but I hardly used it, now I have a new purpose.
This is now the interwebs workbook for my GradDip Photography course at the School of Art, Otago Polytechnic. I will drop in here various stuff I come across as I research and develop my course work. It's also a nice to have a skite site to show off new and interesting photography by me.
The above simulated tilt shift image, shot in New Edinburgh Way, is part of a set I'm doing to 'get my hand in' with tilt/shift. This is leading up to an exhibition in October as part of my course which will include some tilt/shift technique.

Great images here, and a nice introduction to the work you're doing this semester, however, I have to confess to having a preference for the first image in this post and I'm trying to work out why that is...be good to chat to you further but at the moment, I think it's partly the content, the composition through the narrow 'corridor' space that directs you directly to the figures. But also, as I scanned down to the others I felt that the first one was more ambiguous in it's technicality. It didn't hit you instantly as a "tilt-shift" photograph - it is more subtle than that, and this allowed me to deal with the subject matter, first without getting distracted. The others in comparison, although interesting for their recognisable areas in Dunedin, and the technical style, don't necessarily allow me access further than this...hmmm, just some thoughts - be good to see what you think.
